That is a good sized yellow perch. Nice mess of fish
A few days ago we were caught in the northeast between two fronts and on that day the fish bite was crazzzy! The day started out with this 4 pt. buck grazing near the house in my backyard:
The day on the water started out sunny and slow and I didn't expect much, but then I found a few locations that changed all that. Early on, shallow water fish were found lounging under tree branches in the shade adjacent to deeper water 8' or so. Get the lure under those branches - BANG - FISH ON! But then the front started moving in with a partly sunny sky and wind and alternated between these two:
So I figured since that pattern was done may as well start on my way back. But for the H of it I started casting parallel to shore, averaging 40' from it in water 6' or less. Some spots held 5 or so fish; moved further along the shore and another 5 fish. Cast too close to shore or too far away - no fish. Fished this shoreline parallel to it for over 100 yards:
A variety of species were caught on a variety of soft plastics in many colors rigged on 1/24 or 1/16 oz jigs.: crappie, nice size yellow perch, sunfish, small bass and even a catfish! Here are some examples:
As usual the Magnet tail added to a French Fry body caught a bunch:
Figured I'd try out a black colored bait and was not disappointed:
63 fish as compared to 23 fish two days before kind a make me wonder when the next front is coming....

Thanks.
Update: cold front came through last night and a full grown female deer was grazing in the backyard this morning- most likely the buck's mate. Then a white egret was getting ready to eat the fish in my pond. I've never seen egret anywhere I fish - herons the usual thieves. It's been a weird year to say the least!
Would have gone fishing today except for the 15 mph steady wind.

Weather causes fish to move many times . I used to think they were not biting when actually they moved to another depth or location . Livescope has really shown us alot . Earlier this week where we were smashing Crappie in open water they quit . Actually moved several hundred yards . I found them after several hours of searching and it was game on .

We had a cold from thru here last night in SE PA. Took a little longer for the bite to start this morning, but once it got going they were hungry! You just never know.
