That looks like it works nicely
Weed guards are usually out for 1/32 and1/24oz jigs. Solution: make a wire weed guard and attach another piece as a leader.
Problem: Once a weed guard is attached through the line tie twice to form a loop, there's little room for a line tie because thin braid is difficult to pass through the crowded eye. (Braid is the only line I use).
Solution: permanently attach a thin wire leader to the line tie eye.

Note: the wire ends are wrapped around the hook shank from opposite direction.
I used 27# test wire which is super thin and good for when a wire leader is needed to prevent pickerel from cutting the line but doesn't affect pan fish biting. It cost $3.29 for 30' and will last forever. I use a thicker gage to make spinners and Beetle Spin type spinners.
First time I tried it today I caught a bass and then a medium size sunfish while working the jig through weeds with zero hang-up's.

The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
That should definitely do the trick I have a bunch of those old-time wired hooks like that that we can cut and put on a jig head.

I happened to find this super thin AWG wire:
I figured - why not use this for the leader instead? Easier to install and even less affect on lure action.
(Course I don't know when or where I bought it.....)
