8 lb stren is on my ACC long pole

I ordered a couple of new rods Thu. evening. I normally just throw Mr. Crappie 4 or 6 lb. on my Crappie pols and call it good. But I'm thinking about trying something different this time. What do you think would be a great line for these??
Rod 1 - ACC Crappie Stix GS76SG 7' 6" split grip spinning. Will probably put my President reel on it.
Rod 2 - ACC Crappie Stix GS10R 10' rear seat jig pole. I ordered a KastKing Summer spinning reel size 2000.
I may swap reels around or find a different reel, I've got a bunch of small ones.

A small diameter braid might do better than you ever thought, mine do. Look into Sufix nanobraid.

I have been doing some experimenting with different lines like braid, braid with fluro leaders, different size mono but at this point I still prefer 6 lb hi vis mono on my rods.

I had been running 6lb mono for years, I tried braid out last year on some catfish rods and I liked how much more sensitive it made the poles. I spooled on some 20 lb mono tonight, it has an equivalent diameter as 6lb mono.

They're here!! Got my new rods today, they sure look good! They even come in their own rod bags like my fly rods do. Can't wait to get out on the water...but rain is forecasted for a couple of days. I need to spool my new KastKing reel anyway, and pick a reel for the other rod.
Those look good Gary, I'm sure you'll find the right combo to get them working right for you.

You’ll enjoy those rods. I have six ACC rods and use them more than any of my other umpteen rods.

I like the way they look and feel. Very light and balanced. I hope they fish, and catch , as well as I think they will!
I'm going to "thin the heard" with a garage sale soon. I've amassed a ton of rods and tackle over the years, as I'm sure most of us have. Time to get rid of all the clutter that I never use any more. Now that I've gone from a bass boat to the Twin Troller I can't lay 10 rigs out on the deck when I'm fishing. I'm not a spider rigging guy, so I fish "old school"...one pole at a time. Two or three setup in the boat should be just fine.
