I had a light rain at my place all morning.( the garden needed that ) and the wind was sure there too. You did what I only thought about doing. Looks like it was well worth your efforts. Nice going!!
The app on my phone said it was to be a puny day. The sun wasn’t out, the wind was 17 with gusts. The weather folks said it was gonna rain, which the wife found when she left the house and headed north. Far be it from me to argue with the liars. But the fish were biting and the rain never came til after I was done. Used my 6’6” Browning Airstream rod almost all day with a 1/32 and a bgbs. Blue thunder was the color. Started slow, got a few fish then slowed down some more. I almost started believing the forecasts. But y’all know me better than that. Made a little move and started picking the small places. Hadn’t made many casts and the line jumped, had to get him out of there. He kinda had me scrambling, looking for the net that I hadn’t taken out yet. And he would be the best of the day. A pound and ten. Two more nice ones followed his trip to the net in the next five minutes. Haven’t done this with fish this big in a while. Now I had 4 in the box and was thinking about crappie on the half shell......Yummy!! No other biguns like those followed but I stayed in the fish for the next two hours. The wind never let up, had to stay after the boat control, and the temps seemed to fall. Wasn’t anything I couldn’t stand but it wasn’t comfortable either. I’d been there just over 3 hours and now had 7 in the box, and yes, I was getting hungry. Packed up and headed home. I spent the last hour releasing 10 to 12” fish that would have made a good fish fry much better. Small side note, check out what was in the belly of one of them. Lots of them. It’s no wonder my baby Shad was working so well. Hope y’all get out soon.... Skeet

Good post and catch.

Nice bounty with the prevailing conditions. Most people, including me, would have remained/returned to horizontal. Good-lifers(retirees) throw at a much larger day of choice "dart board".

Well done Brother Skeet. Sounds like a nice, quiet, and peaceful time on the water to me.
I have learned not to put too much stock in the weather folks either.

Great job Tim. You hung in there. I went and caught nothing but squat, zilch, notta! Was windy and could not fish where I wanted and adjustments all failed me! doh
But I'm glad to see someone figured them out. Good work buddy.
