I have the Iprimi 5'6" xxul and the 6' xul, they are two of my favorite rods. I fished the most with the 5'6", it's a hard rod to put down and a decent panfish is a blast ! I love the grips !
Nice looking reel !
Time for the fun to begin. Got some 1.2 gram spoons with #8 Saq Sas hooks....the Presso Limited pairs well with the rod. Got to love the Presso orange color.

Can’t wait for the reports and possible you tube adventure. You have an interesting season ahead of you!

Good looking combination that is for sure. Another question regarding the spoons...do you need a higher gear ratio reel to fish them in the heavier waters, ie more current, or will the low ratio reel speeds suffice? Also, what line to you plan on using for .9-1.2g spoons in and around the gill beds and in the current if you are able to fish them?
I would suppose how much current one is fishing in as to what ratio you may want. I do know for trout slow is the way to go. I have used both slow and high speed ratio at Normandy with success. I have the Presso Limited on the rod with some 2.3# test ester...and that is what I will use when I find the Gills on bed or stacked somewhere. I am hoping to hit up VFW tomorrow...man that's a long drive....my other spots are blown out so it is there or nothing really. Changed out the #8 Saq Sas barbless hooks on 3 of the 1.2 gram spoons to a #8 barbed hook. Did so without incident but for an old man with fumbly fingers I can see that is an accident waiting to happen......LOL.
