I think in a thread on here, most store them in the plastic bags they come in. I put some in the hard plastic tote boxes for the trip and leave some at home in the bags. The do dry out and fade worse over time when not in the original packaging.
So when y’all buy plastics do you leave them in the pack they came in?I take a few out when I go and always have a few left and was just wondering. I like them right out of the pack but don’t want to waste them.

I have always taken mine out of the plastic bags and stored mine in one of the Plano plastic boxes and I add a little mineral oil and some Slab Sauce as of lately and there good to go. I've had some at least 10 years and there still like new and the main reason I do it that way so I can put the box out on my deck and see what all colors I've got without having to dig around looking threw bags.

Since I use only one main bait and one bigger one in one color each . I keep a bag of prerigged baits and one for extra tubes . Plastics keep much better in cool dark place like a closet in your home . But I buy in bulk just keep enough for a few trips in my boat .
i store them in every place i can think of , that way i never have to look very far for one
pockets , truck console , sun visor , hat , bags , little boxes , an ice chest or 2 and so on and so forth
and sometimes the bags they come in as well

I would like to just put them out in a Plano box and leave them and add as needed. But I was thinking i read somewhere it’s better to leave them in the pack. Wanted opinions. I like the mineral oil and slab sauce thing. May try that. Thanks guys.

I think either of those work just fine. The main thing is to keep them out of direct sunlight and from drying out. I keep some in bags and then some in plano boxes and have no issues with either.

I keep mine in Plano boxes by what style of bait they are. Every once in a while, I will put a drop or 2 of worm oil in each compartment. I have had issues with baits getting deformed in bags if they sit too long.

I use the Plano boxes with rubber gaskets and haven't had any problems.
