I've been reading up and watching the occasional video on tying jigs.
I was initially considering a peak vise, but now I'm thinking about purchasing the Renzetti Saltwater Traveler with the streamer base.
Other than the cost, is there any reason to not go this route?
Any recommendations for videos, books, tools, etc. that are must haves for tying crappie jigs?
What are your recommended places to purchase supplies, including the vise?

I’ve been tying on an older Renzetti for over ten years and I like it a lot. I use the table top base but also have the clamp base. Smooth working, I’d buy it again.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
I personally prefer the Peak although both are good. Both are made in USA which I like. Doesn't sound like money is the issue but for the same amount you could get the Peak and then some accessories or tools. The brass knobs, D-arm, waste bin, material clip, extra bobbins, etc... whatever you think you would need. I think Skip told me when I had asked if you have larger hands you might prefer the Renzetti. I would suggest if you have anywhere to go check them out to do that. Both are some of the most popular vises and I think either would work very well for you. I'm sure you seen lots of reviews online here is a quick one I found.

I have a Renzetti Saltwater Traveler as my back up (bought it before I bought my Nor-Vise) and have been thinking of using it more lately. Such great access on this vise to the item your tying. Lots of room around the head for fingers and such! I also do use a "C" Clamp type.
A fine vise!

As I tend to do, I ended up going a bit farther down the rabbit hole in terms of research and dollars spent.
After reading several reviews and watching many videos on the subject, I ended up ordering a Regal vise. I have a Pine Green Revolution vise with the Big Game jaws and Traditional base on the way.
I hope to be posting some pictures shortly of the vise, and some jigs I've tied.
LOL, if your gonna go might as well go big! Congrats on the new purchase and welcome to the addiction. Looking forward to seeing some pictures.
I got a traveler about 20 years ago. I tie commercially both jigs and fly's. I buy about 4.000 hooks each year so that should give you a idea of how many flies have been tied with this vice. Only problem I ever had was the O-ring broke. I got 2 O-rings and put them on. This way if one breaks I have a insurance policy. If it does break there is some parts that come off. At least a ball bearing. That was many years ago so I may be wrong on the number of parts but when traveling it is easy for me to loose a part then not be able to tie. I do not think you will be disappointed with the purchase of a Renzetti.
Don't cost no more to go first class. You just can't stay as long......
