when they don't have a collar with a ball on the end. FurFlyin post on wanting to buy a large jig head mold that has a collar with a ball on the end, reminded me of something I did last year for sauger jigs. I have a 5/8 oz aspirin head jig that has a collar for soft plastics, but doesn't tie well for a flared look. Tried several different things but none seemed to work. Then I thought why not tie a ball, or in this case, a bead on a no collar jig. Worked pretty good and you control how much flair you want by more or less thread at the head.
Little thread base, add your bead, super glue and more thread to lock it in place. Add more thread to the front to get how much flair you want.
This is on a 5/8 oz jig with minimal thread base at the front to show how much flair you can get.
