x2!
I saw NEWB and knew I needed to introduce myself. Anthony aka TheRo0sTer (nickname from years ago, mostly used on forums) from SoCal, made my way to Missouri via the military and a trip around the world. I've been fishing since I was 6 yrs old and will be 50 in Oct. I bought a boat last month, so I'm here to learn about Crappie techniques and how to chase them. Plus I figure I might find out more about Truman and LOZ. Oh Missouri is now my home and will be until my son graduates HS and College in 7 years.

WELCOME
welcome aboard and tight lines!
Welcome, I also started Life in So. Cal. as dad was a D.I. at MCRD at the time. Left in 1977 for the Military and went to 6 different countries in 16 yrs...loved it. Got out, bummed around a bit, and and started driving trucks. Settled here in Springfield, and spend time around the house, and fishing. My better half is still running the roads delivering freight till she decides to retire. I'm still learning this Crappie fishing myself. Welcome aboard and have fun...

Dang I thought I done Introduced myself but checking through the threads see I hadn't. Better late than never I recon. OK, as I stated I was a military brat born on a marine base at Camp Pendleton, Cal. and joined the military in 1977 at 19 yrs old. now i'm 62, been married and divorced 3 times, have 1 that's mine whose in college now and looking at the military in the Medical field. My better half brought me 4 kids, all adults now, 2 men and 2 women, of which 1 is a Marine though he's been out now 3 yrs, 1 is like his momma and runs all over delivering freight all over the US. The two daughters have three kids between them. The oldest just moved from Oklahoma to AZ. after her divorce, and our other daughter lives south west of Jacksonville, Fl. We call Springfield, Mo home. I am retired due to injuries to my back and knees while in the service, so I try and go fishing as often as my ole beat up body will allow. Been fishing the local lakes around here mostly as I am currently working on my little 14' aluminum V bottom. See "Let the Restore Begin" thread. It's an old Rich Line Challenger I put a 18 hp Evinrude on. Am getting an electric start on it and should have that done tomorrow. Haven't been chasing crappie too many years but am getting more consistent numbers, just not many over 9"s. One lake I been fishing you lucky to get one over 8". A city owned lake with limited access, and only from the bank or bridge. But they're still fun to catch, and it gets me moving and out of the house. Hope to have the boat finished in the next month or so, as funds will allow, and get it on the water. Hope to make camp this coming year and may see some of ya all around before. If you see a old black '95 f150 with a faded red camper shell on back, say hi, it has a big Crappie,Com sticker on the back... well, thats about it.Eric, AKA "Jamesdean".

Hey all!
I'm Missouri born & raised, grew up in Farmington, after graduation I did a short stint in the lead mines then joined the Navy. I retired from the Navy in '96 and we moved back home eventually settling in Viburnum. Janet, my wife of 38 years just retired and we plan to start seriously fishing again. We are about an hour from Clearwater and pretty close to Council Bluff, most of our fishing will be on those two along with the Current and Black rivers.
Thanks for having me!
Bob
