Default Man, this weather is depressing!

We wait ALL YEAR for the May full moon and this is what we get??!! Here in Kentucky, they are calling for temperatures approaching the freezing mark tonight! What is up with this cold weather in May?

For me, I'm going all in the moment the weather warms back up with an eye towards the May new 🌚. Here on Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake, the shellcrackers are notoriously elusive and flat out difficult to catch outside of April/May when they come shallow to spawn.

These panfish would have much more successful spawns if they did their business in the fall of the year.....The stable and traditionally better weather patterns would really allow them a better chance to spawn. Interesting thought that occurred to me yesterday...

Know what you're saying! Sonar showed a water temp of 51 degrees and the sun was out. Guess the spawn will have to wait as will the increase in fish activity. But at least after 3 hours of no bites I found bait fish on sonar accumulated near one shore that dropped down to 8'. Larger fish nearby were caught in open water. The 10 plus mph wind didn't help much as I didn't have the heavier anchor with me to hold position. The only thing that got consistent bites were small grubs (Trout Magnets) rigged on 1/32 oz jig heads. Rain today and tomorrow with more cold night time temps in the upper 30's moving in.
    What a weird year !!

Sat. 20-30 mph wind. Guess I'll be modifying soft plastic lures in the basement for the foreseeable future.

Same here. Hope to get out in the boat and see if I can find some beds tomorrow after it warms up

In north western Pa, it is snowing, and will again tonight and tomorrow. Mother Nature needs to make up her mind.

The weather along with the virus has made for a depressing spring for me. I must have scanned around 200 acres of prime bedding areas on Nickajack. Not so much as the first bed. Water temps were 61-62 degrees. I know at some lakes the spawn is on......but not for me.

    Regards
