May IU suggest you consider a dual pin pick-up reel. Even Shakespeare (made in China) has an excellent track record due to the dual pick-up

#metoo. Got 4 for xmas and Brenda and I both like them. Double pickup really helps and this is a nice looking reel compared to other underspins I have.

Landed it no problem, then a 5 lb catfish next day on line that came with it. she loves it so bought couple more for her and the kids. it casts just fine but she doesn't, just drops it down. IF your casting should replace line with whatever you prefer.
we have several of those in the garage as well , durable and cheap and they cost near nothing

I have been happy with the Omega Z02 Pro. I’ve several of them now. Have not had an issue (yet) with any of them. I like the smaller size compared to a 33 or the larger Z03.

I second the Pfluger. I have a pfluger trion spincast I use to shoot docks with. I’ve caught a 32lb blue cat and several bass in the 2-3 pound range with it. They smoke the drag but the reel holds up well. I’ll replace with another when it bites the dust

I second the Zebco Omega. Super smooth.
