I am planning on putting a back fill line on first. How many feet is a good number to allow for the braid? I was thinking 125ft.

I have Sufix 832, 8lb on my casting set up. I like it a lot, it sink faster than any other braid, I can feel crisper bite since they don’t make big bowl underwater. I was looking for 4 lb for my spinning, as you know, the only available is 50yds ice braid version. Like now I have 4lb Fins windtamer on my spinning reel but have 4,6,8lb Nanofil coming to try out. If these doesn’t work I might try Fireline crystal next.

The backing before the braid will depend on your spool size and how much braid you are going to put on... some people will spool up with half the spool and others will use the whole spool
Yeah, if you plan to use 2-4lb braid or specialty line, prepare to backing to about 3/4 or your spool. These line are super thin. Some ppl would use the whole 150yds spool, I only spool about half of spool.
^^^ I like!
Had plans on putting in on in reverse. Then backspinning it onto another reel to reverse it. Then putting it back on good reel. Got too much time on my hands.

Yeah, you can do that with braid...but probably would get all kinds of crazy line twist if you did something similar with mono.
