Even when the fishing is good some people can never be satisfied.
It has come to my attention that there are several people on the lake who are going out and catching multiple limits in a day such as way over the limits. I'm not talking about someone who goes out and catches 20 or 25 over 10 inches because personally I think that is what the limit should be. Maybe it should be 20 fish over 10 inches. I am talking about people going out and catching multiple bag limits in one day. I know this is happening because I personally know someone who bragged about it a couple weeks ago and talked about who he was fishing with. CPO's know exactly who he is. Let me just say this, if I see or hear of anyone who is doing this I will make a phone call and let the CPO's know who you are and what your boat is. We work hard to make Rend the fishery that it is and I personally want to see it stay that way. There are way more crappie fisherman than there was 20 years ago when there used to not be a limit on Rend at all. There is a reason there is a size limit on lakes such as KY lake and the Mississippi lakes and the limits there are working great. Like I said I do believe our limit needs to change and I personally would like to see it at 20 or 25 fish 10 inches or bigger or just a straight 20 or 25 fish for those of you who don't get out much.
So with that said be safe on the water.

That's too bad. I hope they are caught. I have never fished Rend lake but it is on the list this spring/summer!

I agree. I know of of man, dead now, but used to brag about catching tons of fish in the old days. That's why we have limits now a days. We must protect our game and fish for the future. If you are a fisher or hunter please practice conservation. The future depends on it.
Thanks,
Mac
Let the DNR know now. They can start an investigation, look into the possession limit that has been grossly exceeded.
Obviously IL has a daily catch limit, but I have never been able to find an actual possession limit for the state. Most other states do have one, I believe?
