It will get better, nice pic show!
was just a ton of pecans , the wildlife is sticking to the woods and wont come out in view much right now . the mast crop defies imagination this year and the ground is covered in acorns and pecans . my buds that hunted all saw diddly and hardly anyone ever even heard a gunshot in the areas they hunted .
we went to my place to put the black cylinder blind into its position again and completed the task and set up a bow blind over a deer only area I made a while back . then we decided it was important to become one with nature and collect some of the bounty . we stopped at around 40 lbs of pecans , being 20 is his bag and 20 in mine .
lots of snakes out and about right now in the sun when it warms and I warned him about copperheads several times as snakes often hang around rodent food sources ,ie acorns and pecans .
my bud down the road a few miles ran up on a monster copperhead the day before and sent me a photo of it ,so I told my friend careful where you put your hands amigo .so as if scripted we are digging around picking up pecans and I am taking them off the tree mostly and he is picking them up off the ground and all the sudden jumps about as high as a cloud and says SNAKE !
now mind you a quick glance confirmed it was in fact a snake and NOT a copperhead but instead a simply beautiful hognosed snake . man did it scare the daylights out of him .
we saw only one deer when we were leaving the place and she was in the deep woods .
I did get the cards out of the cameras and view the results and it seems the lack of deer sightings is in line with the increased predator sightings around the feeders as well .I did notice one pretty nice buck far back in the dark checking the feeder area for does as well .
hope you enjoy the photos and have a great day

Very nice pics. Jealous of the pecans, we have almost none out of around 20 trees combined. I usually help my grandfather by running them through the cracking machine and then he finishes them and bags them for freezing. Done it for years but I think sadly after this year his health has declined where he won’t be able to help anymore. He is 96 Purple Heart WWII veteran and one of my heroes.
Nice looking pecans, little cool for them up this way but we still get a few each year. That Hognose snake is a dandy, all flared up and acting a lot bigger than his britches. We call them Puff Adders, put on a good show they do, all bluff though. They do keep the mice and rats in check nicely!!
I checked my cameras today. Does only. Good pictures! Love me some pecans!

Nice pictures, haven't seen a hog nose In a long time around here. People kill them on sight because they don't know the difference. Looks like y'all got plenty of wildlife to go around
