Great day and story Skeet!

Today’s forecast was rain after 3 so I finished my Granddaughters pancake breakfast and came home and hooked up. Didn’t start til 11 and figured I’d get a few and I wasn’t disappointed. Only caught 7 or 8 I think but it was enough for me. Home before 1:30 and mowing grass. A slow start got off to a rather exciting first fish. Seems he had other ideas of where my rod needed to be. May have also been the biggest red belly that I’ve caught, surely the best in many months. A little song from the drag and a stout fight before I could get him to hand.
Took a few more casts before I got my next fish, and he was the complete other side of the coin. Had to show him off, he thought he was big.
And then I went a while before I found another, but when I did he had a friend. These two were close by each other and one take was so subtle I almost didn’t feel it. They just stopped the rod once the hook was set and I had to wait and hope they didn’t find a branch.
Got lucky with just a couple or three more and figured I better not push my luck. The weather had held off and I still had things to do so I headed for the ramp and the house. All participants are there for another day. Maybe you’ll be the one to find them next. Hope you get out for a bent rod and a big smile, just might see you there. Til then.......Skeet.

Nice mid-day deviation, also a deviation for you was your last fish ruler technique, lol= Certainty of an elusive 11 cnbg.

Thanks for checkin' on me! CURIOSITY takes me there, SUCCESS ushers me back!
Your fish typically look very, very thick/healthy!!
I knew that you’d pick up on that Doug. I tried to show the jig in his mouth in the picture, but he had other ideas. When I finally got him to behave, the jig wasn’t visible. So I moved it close to another inch mark and called it good. Not many fish but a comfortable trip overall. And yes Hoosier, they eat well around here.
