I'm sure most of you have seen this already. This past Saturday, a bear was seen swimming across the lake by Bucks Island and caught on video. Bear seen swimming in Lake Guntersville
There were also two or three other bear sightings in Huntsville/S Huntsville in a 48 hour period this week and there are some video and picture clips of them too.
Glad to see them moving in.
Now if we could just get DNR to admit we have cougars/mountain lions around we might get somewhere!!! lol

Nice ! He was just trying to cool down a bit!
And folks on the forum are worried about gators. Wait till a bear decides to climb on your rig to take a short rest swimming across the Big G, LOL!
Oh no....Mitch is gonna have to stop carrying snacks in his boat now
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I guess it begs the question. “Which seat on the boat does the bear get? Whichever one he wants!” lol

There was one killed crossing the road not far from where I work Bob. It happened just the other day, and several have been videoed in Stevenson and Flat Rock areas, several places not far from where I live.

To me it looks like they have been stocked back into these area... But I don't know... Maybe like the Gators years ago? I just hope they don't start causing problems for people... People just need to think about the Bears could be in the area when doing outdoor thing... Be Safe...

I got a better one than that! Me and a buddy(deceased now) were fishing the Little Tennessee River in East Tennessee about 1973 before the dam was built for trout when we were in Graduate school at UT Knoxville. We were anchored. A man on the bank hollered, "Don't let that hog get in the boat with ya" I looked up and a pack of dogs had run this wild hog into the river and he swam across the river, stood up on the rip rap, shook and took of like a bullet! He swam close to our boat because the current was carrying him closer to us and I got a picture of him. My buddy pleaded to pull up the anchor. He was skeered to death!
I have a picture, but unfortunately that and other things were left at the house after the divorce 20 years ago!! This is true, but can't prove it. I will never forget it! GOOD TIMES!

So ....is no one considering that us bank fisherman could be mauled to death by one? You're not allowed to have a gun in a State Park area, and I fish Town Creek and Short creek a lot. One was spotted at Town Creek boat ramp not too long ago. Black bears are very aggressive. They may be cool to look at, but uh, I'm not trying to get killed. Are they at least trying to capture them?
