Wow ; not good... Thank you for keeping us up to date TimY.
It went over the road just east of the dam one year but they claim the pressure moved the dam 2 inches so I don't think they will let that happen again. They would do an emergency release. They do have all 8 gates open a foot right now to relieve the pressure but only releasing 20,000 cf. With 130,000 cf coming in, that's like dripping a faucet. Water is around 10 ft under sarge bridge today and rising fast. Flood control pool is at 91% capacity.

There goes a bunch of crappie down to Josh. It will take a long time to get the lake down near normal. Just got my new live scope and here comes the floods. Just my luck, oh well it's bought and gettin mounted.
I’m not Tim, but I have a vhs video of water coming over the Tainter gates that the COE said never happened. Also have my initials painted under the Sarge creek bridge. Had to remove the seats and squat down in the boat well to get under there.
Currently the COE is going to release just about the maximum amount of water it can starting Saturday morning. A warning was issued by the COE of minor flooding in SE Ponca City and some roads leading into town from that direction.
Ranchers and farmers all the way to Keystone are moving livestock and equipment to high ground. All of the feeder creeks and rivers downstream will be backed up and remain flooded with water levels increasing Saturday.
I’ve got my equipment moved out and helped the neighbor get his livestock out as well.
We live below the dam a few miles with our house on a ridge, so no issues for us.

Hmmm, maybe it’s time to break out some limb lines and set them at the mouths of the creeks below the dam. The blues should be having a hey day.
It is 2 ft above max flood pool now. Almost to the road east of Kaw City. 35 1/2 ft above normal pool.Still a 100,000 cf coming in. Releasing 40,000 right now so still rising.

Lake is finally dropping slow. Inflow is down below the release rate. Lake peaked at 36 1/2 ft high. Photo is of Sarge bridge. Might get under it with an intertube. Only lake access is people are unloading in the parking lot at Pioneer. All campgrounds are closed and main gates locked. Gonna be a long time before everything gets back to normal.
richard387 thanked you for this post
To show how bad it is, if you look down toward the end of all the debris, you can barely see the roof top on the entry gate house going into coon creek. All campround reservations have been cancelled until at least sometime in June for Coon, Sarge and Washunga.

For the folks in Ponca City that need minnows, the Red Barn has closed as we all know but there is a new bait shop on South Avenue between 13th st and 14th street on the North side of the road. They are basically a 2nd hand store but have minnows and worms. Sign out front that advertises bait.
I stopped and talked to the owner today. He is looking for more tanks to add Rosey's, perch, etc. Told me he had owned a bait store in the past.
I think his price was $3.50 per dozen.
