I was going to take my boat to a welder that has done some work on my boat in the past but I came across this aluminum brazing rod stuff. Looks to me like it would be a good fix and I wouldn't have to take my boat anywhere. I have a couple small leaks where I used JB Weld in the past.
Here's the website. What do you all think?

if watch the videos you will notice that everything they are demonstrating on is solid aluminum !!! I wouldn't even try to attempt that on a Aluminum boat , you might put a a bigger hole in than you got now if you get the aluminum too hot !!! just my

I never had a whole lot of luck with that stuff. Maybe if you are already proficient with oxy/acetylene welding, then you could do a pretty good job. I'm not, and just ended up making the hole bigger most of the time.
JMO, the better DIY fix is just a riveted patch with 3M 5200 in between.
If you want to play around with it, harbor freight used to carry a cheaper version. Not sure if they still do.
I would have to agree with Strmwalker here, you could easily end up with a larger hole than when you started. I've restored a couple vintage aluminum boats and have used this.

Just make sure your surface prepped properly and clean as a whistle!
I’d definitely take it to someone that welds AL every day.
It’s tricky, just when you think it’s almost ready. A big hole drops out! LOL

Find a professional welder that has mig or tig welder that knows what they are doing. May cost you a little more but it is better to be safe than sorry.

I watched a guy at the Farm and Gin Show years ago weld two cans together with something similar. I bought some but, could never get it to work.
