Not very funny then, while fishing below the Springfield Lake Dam After catching a real nice 14 inch crappie, I went out on some rocks ( shore fishing) to fetch some water for my bucket, water at the bank full of muck. Once I had the bucket about 1/4 full, I turned and went back to shore, which wasn't but about 5 foot away. Slick rocks, weight of bucket, I slipped, and jammed my leg on the rocks, hard enough to mess the muscles in the back of my legs up. I got back to shore and it took several IB Profins, and a couple hours to be able to make it to my truck in the parking lot. Once the pain eased up some, I continued to fish for a bit. I caught three more crappie and a 18" catfish. Driving home was another task. Thankfully the truck was automatic, as it really hurt to have my weight pushing my legs into the seat. Twoo weeks later there was a bruise the size if a softball on the backs of both legs. Lesson learned.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!

The day I caught this was one of my best days fishing ever! Almost every cast I was bringing one in. Nothing of any size much but a joy to catch. I even remembered to get photos for the BnM contest that was going on that month. Would love to have one of those days and take my family especially my daughter. Love to see and hear her get excited!
