I’ve never fished Black Lake however I hear it’s a great crappie lake. Does anyone know of some good spots on black lake this time of the year?

I fish 7 days a week; some days for fish, everyday for men.prefers shiners, NwLa sacalait LIKED above post
I mostly fish Black Lake oct-feb when the crappie are staged up in the deeper parts of the lake. There is a lot of deep water (18-25 feet deep) on the north end where the lake narrows up to a single deep channel where most folks fish in the coldest parts of winter but most of the crappie have moved out to spawn in the shallower parts of the lake. If you don't know the lake the channel can be difficult to follow. My advice would be to start at the hwy 9 bridge which has a launch on each side of it. Chandler's camp is on the right and Black Lake lodge is on the left hand side and both have a ramp and overnight rentals, they may also be able to offer up to date fishing reports. From either launch you just go out to the bridge and start fishing there (there is brush dropped all around the bridge). If no luck there start fishing around cypress trees on the channel edge. Try fishing around the trees looking for fallen tops and brush piles. If it was winter I could give you a better idea of a particular area to zone in on but now the fish are scattered all over the lake usually around structure. Good luck, post some pics and give us a report
