I sit and cut sections that are just longer than the swivel, slide a section over swivel, place it just close enough to heat source( I use heat gun) to get tubing to shrink. Then heat, paint, dip cool and hang on rack. Once I have a bunch done I just use a old small pocket knife to cut off tubing and clean eye. When done properly no paint residue on swivel and a lot easier than wrapping tin foil or tape.
Did these with heat shrink, It works very well
