Yeah....generally agree. Should be interesting this spring.
Well it looks like we will be having another high water spring. The river is high so they can't drain the lakes fast or it will flood the delta. I love the high water. First off you get a better spawn and second it scatters the fish so it makes it challenging to find them. Anybody else agree or am I in my own world? It also gives the fish a chance to grow bigger.

Same song, second verse from last year! We'll have to suck it up!

Really doesn't have anything to do with the big muddy, they been sucking it back out trying to get to the curve but the rainfall amounts has kept it filling back up. Grenada almost got to 206, got back down to 199 and now is headed back up. These lakes were built to reduce flooding in the delta not to control the Mississippi River, even if they were all releasing water at their maximum rate it would have very little effect on the Ms River but would strongly effect Greenwood and on down stream in the delta and communities just below the levies.

Hard to see through trees with binoculars . Single pole heaven . See you at Ho-buck and Flower creek .
Last spawn was perfect in my book. If I was in charge of rainfall, we'd see that every year (yeah, it's probably a good thing I'm not in charge).
Last year, I learned stuff about crappie and crappie fishing I never imagined would be true. Those crazy things will hold in blackberry briars. I pulled monsters out of thickets that looked like they'd been fighting a wildcat, and many times, I went back home looking like I'd been in a fight with the same wildcat. I broke my favorite jig pole and replaced it with one I don't like nearly as well. Oh, and waders, you can tear up some waders in a heartbeat fishing high water.
Even with the scratches and having to buy new gear, I'll take high water spawns any year the Lord is pleased to throw one my way.

Lol that's why I love the high water nobody can see you wearing their butts out in the trees like out on the main lake. Sweet gums and oaks here I come. Jigging is by far the finest way to catch them, feeling that thump is amazing.
Glad to see the high water. I know it is good for the fish but, it kicked m butt trying to find them. A friend in a small one man boat wore the out catching a limit almost every time he went and only fished one creek.
