I was spider rigging on Ky lake and a older couple decided, I was catching more than them and to fish in front of me. I circled their cork in case it isn't visible. Name: FB_IMG_1547872011298.jpeg

It is just sad how so many folks lack common sense and respect for others. I agree with OP, to some degree, boat operators should be required to have a license. The license will give them practical knowledge but you can't teach common sense or respect to everyone.

Another thing not mentioned is when you throw out a marker buoy.
They attract rude people in droves
I’m gonna have to paint mine black so it looks like trash.

Maybe we should come up with some universal hand signals
To let people know how we feel as they approach?
Maybe one finger pointing downward to the hot spot means - come on up I don’t mind .
and if you wave them away like like when you shoo a fly off your sandwich means back off .
    ??

I think there is already a universal hand signal for those moving in on you.

True story- Me and a buddy dropped a marker in the middle of a school of bedding blue gills then backed off 150 yards to fish another spot while the gills settled down. A pleasure boat went past our marker, dropped off plane and did a 180 back to our buoy. One knucklehead got on the nose of their boat and had the marker in his hands when we, heading their way at high speed with the TM, yelled at him to "drop it, it's not yours". He complied like it was red hot and they high tailed out of there without so much as an apology. Not only idiots. but thiefs as well.

I thought we had to have a license to operate a boat. In addition to my fishing rig I own a 24SSV Supra. I am never in the same waters with the boats. The water I fish is so structured I would not consider running a wake boat through it.

I was disappointed last summer when a guy yelled “Hey, aren’t you Mr Ducks from Crappie.com??” He then proceeded to follow us down a ledge a couple hundred yards then cut us off the next 2 passes. The next day he sat on the same ledge all day.
    He wasn’t from these parts.

You know what though....you might have brought that upon yourself. You dropped a marker and then moved about 500 feet away and started fishing. Any chance the pleasure boater thought there wasn't a connection to the marker and a boat fishing 150 yards away? Go figure.
