Granny Weave, it was easier if you cut the thread for the weave then restart thread. Probably not as strong this way though.

This is called the Hook Weave.
To be honest I’m having trouble telling them apart. I’m not getting the detail they do with flies. I think they are using thinner chenille or material. Next project is to tie one using embroidery thread to see if that brings out patterns more.
Probably will work better with size #2 and most likely that is what I used on some of mine.

Are there videos showing how to do that weave pattern?
Skip highly recommends fly anglers online and so do I. They have stuff for people new to tying and the patterns are in advanced lessons.

I also learn quicker cross referencing videos and I searched YouTube for them. There are a couple but not many. Between using both it helps tremendously!!
