    Default Early Christmas present

Got an early Christmas gift from my son yesterday. Can't wait to try it out. Anyone else here using a pellet smoker? Tips?

My son’s been bragging on those pellet smokers a while.

those things do a good job. one bit of advice is before you cook on the first time rub some bacon grease or plain crisco will do on the cooking surface, heat it up to around 250 and let it go for about 45 mins or so.

First cook was a slab of ribs last night. OMG they were good! Got a 4 lb round roast rubbed with cracked black pepper, kosher salt, coffee, and onion powder. Low and slow at 225° till I got 135° internal. Then will sear at 500° and let it rest awhile.
