great video, thank you for the info. A dull knife will cut you faster than a sharp one cause you have to apply more pressure to cut, greater chance of blade slipping and getting you...I love sharp knives. And I guess I'm cheap as I use a spoon to scale any fish I don't fillet. Put the food holding side down and work from the tail to the head. Scales slide up on the back of the spoon instead of flying all over the place. hope this helps someone.

I use the shark blade on every panfish I clean. If the larger blade that came with my electric knife was all I had I'd probably clean them with a regular filet knife. In my opinion, it is too rigid, but the shark blade flexes a lot.

Lots of good ideas and tips, I never thought of using a apron before to keep your clothes clean. And a designated storage box is very smart!
    Thanks Slab and Doug!

good ideas thanks. but on occasion I do scale a few crappie when I feel like baking them and a spoon does a great job. Plus ole mac likes his fins and tales to eat.

I use a blue vinyl apron when cleaning at fish stations. Not so much at my home station. Mine has a pocket in the front for gear. When cleaning 20 plus salmon at a wack, I wouldn't go near the fish stations without it.

Great video as always Doug. I'll be swapping my blades for those.
