Finally got out on the lake in my back yard, No boat ramps as it is a private lake. Been living here for about 4 months and love it. Had a dock built, Been fishing off the dock and load up on gills, and bonified 12 inch golden shiners. We traded my brother in law a golf cart for a 2 person Pelican boat, Got it cleaned up, had to patch where my BIL decided to deill some holes and in the lake she went. My son and I went out, to teach him how to operate it and we each took 1 pole, and did some long lining. The rumors were true, there are some nice slabs in the lake.

Were there slabs in the lake? An astounding yes. In an hour we caught and released 5. Cannot wait to spend an early morning out there longlining in our little boat.

A piece of happiness there. My wife has long said that if we lived lakefront that she would never have to wonder where to find me. Very nice.

Congrats on the new house & beautiful lake view. Even better that it has a great fish supply & it's private = dreams do come true !!
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

One question, Is it just me or does the mouth of the slab I am holding seem large for his body?
