Has anyone fished Gibson lately? I'm starting to hear that a few stories from around the docks a few good ones are being caught but no numbers, I did catch some small ones myself with the Fall temps on the way things should start to pick up.

Fished there 9/19-9/22. 1st two days cast and dragged roughly a 2” plastic on 1/16 oz weedless. Was nothing to write home about. Switched to casting and dragging a drop shot minner the last two days and fishing was great numbers and size wise.
the best way I have found to get unhung is to point the rod tip straight at the hook and pull the line real tight, then release the stretched line will cause the hook and or weight to fly backwards. If does not come lose after 3 or 4 tries break loose and retie.
My setup is:
6.5’ Pro angler
Pflueger President
8 lb Gamma Panfish
Size 2 truturn hook
3/16 swivel weight
Tie hook on with Huckabee loop knot and then 10-12” below tie on weight with Palomar knot. I say casting but really I’m just pitching 5’ maybe 10’ at most. A lot of times I’m dropping straight down. Just creep the minner through the structure. I usually hook minner through mouth and sometimes eye sockets. Most the time if you get hung just go a little past where you are hung and it will unhang itself. If not I use the rubberband method. Think I only had to break off twice the two days I used this on Gibson. Now I will tell you on windy days you will get hung more when the wind blows you off the structure. Pappa and I tore them up at Kaw this way and it was pretty windy. I broke off a lot there. It was also windier on the 2nd day but Pappa, Ryan, my boy “Whiskers” and I still got on em using this technique. You can use heavier weights and/hooks if you like too. Hope this helps.

Checked out the lake today and met up with a couple of fishing buddies, it seems that the fishing is picking up a little around the boat docks in mid lake area. They both had a nice mess of crappie all on hair jigs, w/red heads and white with green hair think they were fishing around 10 to 12 fow.

Wife, daughter and I fished Gibson 11/3 with minnows and jigs. Was reel windy only 2 drum and 14" black bass to show for our trip. Stayed close to toppers.
