Plastic tube bait on 1/16 oz jig head....colors I use are Red/Chartreuse, Black/Chartreuse, Blue/White, and white/chartreuse.
Plastic grub/minnow.
It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!

GREAT FEEDBACK
So to simplify I think I'll go the following route (for each season):
In the Summer my "most productive" way to fish for Crappie is
- longlining
- spider rig
- one pole
- dock shoot
WITH
- livebait
- hair/feather jig
- softplastic
- horse head
- hard body bait
- spoon
- Beetle Spin/Spinnerbait
I think the soft plastic bait shape can be a separate poll. Adding that would complicate the daylight out of the poll.
I know there's a difference between pushing and pulling, but just select "spider rig" if you push, and "long line" for pulling.
And the poll will allow for multiple selections. Additionally, instead of "favorite" way to fish, I've changed it to "most productive".
Also, if you don't fish in one of the seasons (like the summertime), you can simply not answer those questions. All the seasons will be on the same poll. One long poll.
Does all this make better sense now. If most of you agree, I'll put up the poll in a separate thread shortly.
if limited to one lure, would be a white 1/8 marabou jig. minnows would out fish it on a slow day but I hate using minnows.

Shad style baits on 1/16 oz head take a great number of fish for me.
