The way it looks, the flooding inland is going to be bad
While it is encouraging that the shear power of this thing has diminished considerably PTL... it is likely that it will slow or even stall at landfall or just offshore... which will make the inland flooding likelihood even greater. My heart goes out to the millions of people who will have to deal with the 24 - 48 hour wind and rain pounding that they will likely have along the coastal areas... now southward to South Carolina and God only knows where else depending on the final track and whether it could again strengthen. The total uncertainty of hurricanes is mostly what makes them so very dangerous. The other scary thing is all of the forecasters who claim they know what one of these things is going to. I ONLY believe what a hurricane is going to do when I ACTUALLY see it happen. Stay safe all.
