    The blue is thread. I used blue thread on purpose to see the difference between the red and black which is part of the decorative wrap and the blue that I used to secure the decorative wrap.

    I appreciate all the pics.I have been following this thread and the pics help me understand a lot better than just telling us what you are doing.Thanks for building this rod and explaining all the details.I have never built a rod and its pretty fascinating seeing it done.
    We can always go back and see these pics as a reference.This thread should be made a sticky so it's not buried in the post's someday.

    Yes I agree with KyTyer, it should be a sticky. Thank you for clarifying that it was in fact blue thread and not tape at the end the handle goes on. Guess I need better glasses...
