Why didn't you remove the 1 piston instead of tearing it all a part?

Going down the lake the other day motor fell on its face, Took the plugs out and the bottom spark plug electroide was bent. Put a camera in it and seen the piston was missing a chunk.

I have no clue how you would take just one piston out without tearing the motor down plus I plan on replacing all the pistons

Undoubtly you have no clue how a outboard motor is built. There is absolutely no way to pull a single piston. You have to remove the complete crank Assy to get the Pistons out. So while you have it completely torn down it only makes sense to build it right instead of Jerry Rigging it. If I'm involved in it its going to be done right and Slabbin is same way. Do it right first time or don't bother. I know you would probably go to the auction and try to find a used part to put in it but that don't work for me.

Nope, we using blue painters tape cause it don't leave a residue and advertisement says it makes straighter lines. Which Slabbin needs all the help he can get in that area.

Slabin, do you know what made it pop? Had an old Merc lose a piston because of a weak water pump. The motor was still peeing, just wasn’t pumping enough to cool the motor.
Had a bad injector in my Yamaha that caused it to pop. Expensive lessons learned
