    Question Lake Talquin Bream Report

Hey Guys, I do more Crappie fishing than anything, but me, my 3 boys ages 10-12, and some guys from church are going to Lake Talquin for our first time ever. Most of the guys will be bream fishing for sure. We are staying at Lake Talquin Lodge on May 29th (full Moon). What can we expect? I have been looking at my maps and got some ideas but just want to make it a memorable trip for all of us. If anyone could give me some advice I would appreciate it. We are staying 3 days. PM me to give me some advice. Can anyone give me a report?
    Thanks and God Bless..

I have never been there but hope yall do well. I have heard a lot of good about the Lodge. They probably would share what and when with you.

Fish the creeks in 3 to 5 ft. If water is clear you can see fanned out spots. Being full moon you should be able to catch some nice fish. Bream are doing well this year.

Yes.. 18 footer 7 foot wide.. I love it. I needed room for me and these boys. The 60 hp 4 stroke Merc pushes it well.

I used to fish for bream down there a lot when I lived in Quincy. Caught a lot around Goat island, just out and to the right from LTL. Also had great luck at the Iron Curtain up close to where the river come a into the lake. I either fished with a fly rod or a light beetle spin. Becareful. Lots of submerged stumps and timber all over the lake.
Good luck, have a great time.

Last year had luck with Bream in May on west shore line from the lodge entrance into the lake up to and into the first creek on left, Rocky Confort Creek. Pitching crickets with small cork up along the shore and in the shallow area at the end of creek.
The picture looks like a bunch of "fish go-getters". Go luck to you. As mentioned, be careful out there, lots of timber in that water. I too fish out of an Xtreme Pro 162. Well built boats.
