Great to have young ones that love to fish. When I was that age I went fishing every day almost with my grandfather and his brother. They are memories I will never forget. Take her every day you can. Don
Of my life came yesterday. My youngest Granddaughter that will turn 3 on June first and her mom got to go and catch Tahlia's first fish. This Pawpaw was looking forward to this for a long time. We tried around Christmas but without the boat and uncooperative fish, it didn't get done. We didn't stay too long and the fish were once again stubborn. Life vest in place we took off south and found out real fast that while she didn't mind the boat moving along at 25 mph or so, she didn't like the wind in her face when we went a bit faster. Good enough, now we know. No doubt that will change in years to come. Stopped and tried some wood to make her first a fat Crappie, but as I said, they were stubborn and nothing happened there. Staying on task, I shut down where I knew there should be something to stretch the line. Well, they were supposed to be here. Fished along 75 yards and I was beginning to wonder if we would get it together today, and finally the cricket payed off. The little float went down and here was her first, a Warmouth about 5 inches long gave her (and her mom) what for and finally came to visit. Below are some pics from the day. Gotta love a child that young that isn't afraid to touch and even kiss her first fish. I have a new fishing buddy on the way up, Thank You God for that. A little while later I was throwing an itty bitty swimmer and the line came tight and a nice Bluegill had found out that he would help make a little girls day and also came to see us. Long about this time , Huntinslabs and Sylvia were working the same bank and headed our way, having about the same luck as we were. We visited for a while and said our goodbyes and headed for the ramp, rain forecasted to be not too far away. On the trailer and put away, we went for lunch and shared pictures with Manga(Grandma) and put the finish on a good trip. Thanks for the visit and coming along on a fine trip. Hope you all get out soon.......SkeetAttachment 303578

Forgot to mention ; Notice the handsome devil modeling one of the new shirts soon to be offered by the CDC store. Light weight synthetic and cooler than any of my cotton shirts and protects my old leather from the punishing sun that we have here in FL. Logo on the right arm and that may be different in days to come, but the closest I've had to not wearing anything so far. Keep looking in the store or holler at the boss about availability......Skeet.

It was good seeing yall and enjoyed watching her tassle with the bluegill. Was a tough bite yesterday for us as well. Saw TNT's ole boat with the eagle and flag on the side down by the bridge spiderrigging on the way to the ramp. Saw more shad pods on the river than I have in a very long time. Must have been a great spawn for them this year.

On a side note, seen on fb the skeet club has opened sporting clays on site instead of traveling over to the other place I could never find.

I'm a member of the one over by the Cabbage Patch and they do 5 stand and trap and skeet and I think some other stuff too. Next time I get a newsletter from them I'll forward it along to you. Very nice club if you've never been.

Yep volusia clay target on Pioneer trail. Added sporting clays on site. Had it at a remote location that was hid very well. Wait time for 5 stand has been too long each time I went. Usually burn up 100 clays in back then shoot a round of trap. I have never shot sporting clays, but that will soon change I believe. And yes I have a family membership.
