Sweet fish,,,can't wait to fish there one day
Pulled out of Rocky Branch at 5am and headed east Thursday the 10th; light northwest wind, cloudy, light rain and slow falling barometer. We had wet lines shortly there after. Picked up some green fish before my father-in-law hit a 36 pound fish of a lifetime. Got a few box fish and some more greens before heading in after 9 good hours on the water.
5am Friday, clear skies, calm, slowly rising barometer, we headed west for a boat ride. Shortly after getting off plane our guide set out his 9 rod system. Soon a school of 8-10lb + fish fired up and the bite was hot and heavy for a half hour or so; doubles and triple. We had 9 good keeps in the box up to 17lbs by 7:30. By that time 5 boats had descended upon us and the school broke up. Then, as our guide said it was going to, the heavy SW wind quickly set in. We ground out our limit and happily went our way...
A great guide, awesome lake, a fish of a lifetime, we will be back....

I’ve never fished Beaver, but I’ve caught literally thousands of stripers at Texoma. But they don’t have the size there, about 10-11 pounds is the biggest I’ve caught at Texoma.
in the summer of 2018 I went on a guided trip on Ouachita, with David Cochran. I caught one fish, but it was a nice on 31 pounds. I didn’t even care that it was the only fish I caught.
