Started cleaning out Coon Creek ahead of schedule on Thursday. Waste of time and money without a rip rap water break out on the north point of the cove to divert water flow and silt from coming. into the cove, which they won't do. First heavy rain and it will silt back in. OGE has the water rights to Kaw so they will continue to release water until Thursday or when Sooner gets to their elevation they need. Lake iis falling slow at 1 inch per day now. Biggest issue now is this 40 mph wind. If you go out, be sure to watch the depth. Lake is down to 1007.99. Normal pool is 1010.00 so a lot of trees, stumps and rocks shallow you can hit. River is not navigable.

Lake is still falling. Elevation is down to 1007.22. Found some good fish today but had to work for them.

As of yesterday the ramp was still open but as you can see, you can't use the dock. They are supposed to stop releasing water tomorrow. When you pull up to the bank, you will see millions of zebra mussels where the water is down including on the ramp. Lot of people don't realize but Kaw has a real problem with them. Just be sure to check your boat after you get out of the water fellas you don't want to take these with you to the next lake. If you do get them on the boat, take it to a carwash that has hot water to clean it with. They may be really small and hard to see so look close.

Caught some monster fish today. Biggest was 2 lb 7 oz and just under 17 inches. I quit at 30 tired of fighting the wind. Caught fish anywhere from 8 to 17 ft. Water temp was 55 deg

Tim, those are nice fish. it's been a while since i've been on Kaw. Any recommendations on fishing methods right now -- minnows, jigs? Are you anchoring up or trolling? It seems Kaw is running a little behind other lakes -- are they close to spawning?

When the corps dropped the lake 3 ft below normal pool it got tough. These cold fronts are killin us. Water temp is up and down. I'm seeing a lot of short fish caught on jigs. Got to hold it in front of their face now. I believe the spawn will take off strong all over the area on the April 30th full moon if we can get any decent weather. Kept a couple females to check their eggs and they are still a week or 2 out. If you get on the right school of fish, the bite is aggressive. Others won't touch it. Most fish are still feeding heavy on shad. They stopped the water release Wednesday night so the lake is coming up slow.

It appears they did nothing to the coon creek or McFadden ramps.
