I don’t like the carp anymore than anybody else, but I’m just not sure they are the main reason for the decline in size. I have fished Reelfoot more this year than I ever have, and that lake has those things just as bad. But, you can’t tell it by looking at the crappie size. Crappie in Reelfoot remind me of Mississippi fish, just not as big. So I don’t see how the carp can affect fish at ky lake and not reelfoot.

I'm going to Mississippi next week to catch some slabs with shoulders on them, they have them partially because they have a 12" min size limit and 15 fish per day. If anyone is fishing solely for their next meal, they are going about their next meal the hard way.
Our fish will never be like miss fish I don't believe.Unless you figure out a way to feed them miracle growKY Lake Big Sandy

One thing I'm certain of, fillets from a 12" crappie make a better fish sandwich or fish taco than fillets from a 10" fish.

There's big fish still, more area for them to roam.If you watched the ky forum there was some good fish caught. The clearing of the lake, carp, and fishing pressure has changed fishing.Sometimes you have to think outside of the box to catch them. From everyone I talk to last year everyone caught fish.Fall winter, and spring has been hit or miss though.

I will agree to that, yumyum.KY Lake Big SandyOne thing I'm gonna try to do is release the bigger fish this year until after the spawn, unless it's a wall hanger.Probally want help but that's what I'm gonna do.You can change the rules to one pole,3fish limit,no fishing during the spawn and I would still be fishing for crappie. Its just what I enjoy doing and being on the water of coarse.
