Hi fellows,
I want to set up a T-bar type rod holder system on the front of my 14 foot jon boat for tight lining (spider rigging).
What brand and set up do y'all like that is affordable and durable. I want the potential to use eight rods. I am sitting down in the boat not on top of it "bass style", so I don't need a real tall set up.
Thanks so much

Millennium Spyderlok’s are in my opinion the only way to go. They don’t have an 8 pole option though, so you’d have to have two, four pole holders. That’s what I do on my boat. They have 3 different height adjustments. I’ve got a low deck aluminum boat, and they’re not too tall for me.

I have enough Hi-Teks for my boat to put out 19 rods, so you might say I'm kinda partial. Small father and son business and no better customer service anywhere. I have 4 18" posts and another for midway in the boat that is 9" if I remember right. Special applications that I have seen done were top notch. They may not be the cheapest but I have never had to do anything with mine but figure out where I wanted to use them that day and go to it. If you buy before looking into these you would be doing yourself a disservice. The extreme version has high sides and I have had 10lb catfish hit my rods pointing 90* out the side of the boat and they don't come out of the holder. I'm sold.

DHC ... I don't know of any brand that has an 8 rod option (on one single T-bar stand), so you are correct that it would take 2 sets to have an 8 rod spread.
I'd like to see a pic of this boat, or an explanation as to how you intend to "sit down in it" and still reach the bow deck rod holders
since from what I've seen of the Big Jon ... there's two bench seats and a bow deck, and the bow deck is a good distance from the middle bench.
You might also want to keep your eye on the Personal Classifieds for a set of "gently used" rod holders, and save a little $$ ... that's where I bought my two sets of Hi-tek rod holders.
I assume he meant that he was going to put/or had a seat base in the floor of the boat (where the yellow circle is)and was intending to put his rod holders up on the front deck(where the green x is), which is why he didn’t need anything very tall.
