Cool, thanks for the post.
Pulling into the ramp I was somewhat surprised to see how many trailers were in the parking lot for late January. I actually had to wait to launch my boat for the first time in a while. I noticed several boats were long lining mid Creek Channel without success based on overhearing conversation that carries so well over the water. The water temperature was 39 degrees so I chose to head closer to the river and search for crappie in the deepest parts of the channel. I was fortunate enough to place a waypoint on a few new spots with good cover that held fish for the moment. 3 inch baits vertical jigged in green orange white black and gold were all effective colors in catching fish from 22 + feet deep. I didn't run the clicker counter but would guesstimate catching over 30 with a limit of keepers up to 12 inches. A few fish had difficulty getting back down after being pulled from these depths but I think only one did not survive the ordeal.

Gene, thanks for the report. I have used powerbait nibbles on other plastics, but never have tried the powerbait minnows. I have recently thought about buying a pack or two and trying them. You have now encouraged me to do it. Great catch, by the way.
Great report! Glad you were successful!
Good report! Congrats on a good day on the water and putting a plan together that worked!
Nice job Gene. Thanks for the report.
