    I’m fixing a pot of potato soup with fried cornbread. Had hog jowl, black eye peas and cooked cabbage for lunch at JoJo’s Cafe.

    how do you fry cornbread. got me some chili cooking for tomorrow and cornbread is about the best thing I can think of with chili.

    Skillet, little bit of oil in the bottom. Get oil hot then drop cornbread batter in by the spoonful and press it flat with the spoon. If you make the batter thin enough it will level itself out like pancakes. I cook it that way once in a blue moon but it's too greasy for me.

    Those Pinto Beans some good stuff. Furflyin you're right a bout the gout one bad cousin of Arthur. Anything that is high protein that is good for your body is bad for gout and beans are right there.

    That's the only trigger I have so far. Beans, not just Pinto's. My wife made some Taco soup about a week ago and I've been hobbled since eating that.

    Bacon grease gives them a good flavor
