My boats stay outside in the drive or on the boat lift. I always charge the batts after use, but never leave batts on a "float" charge. It is a safety issue for me. However, when we do go to the lake to visit my boats, I always plug in the chargers. It only takes a few minutes to fully charge. I usually get 4 good years use of my WalMart batts. Not bad for a beginner.

My boat is stored outside year round. I have a solar panel with a charge controller that keeps the batteries fully charged. Haven't had a problem yet.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.

Onboard charger is the key. Never own a boat without one!

I owned boats way before there was such a thing as a trolling motor or "fish finder" . Not that I am old of course. On board chargers are a Godsend for sure.

I just saw the weather forecast your way. I don't believe my red drop doors could handle it.
