Well that didn't turn out as scheduled
Our connecting flight from Detroit to Grand Rapids was delayed......
As the jet pulled back from the boarding gate and sat for about 20 minutes, the pilot finally announces that the secondary communication was not working properly and they would not fly without it, they would pull back up to the boarding ramp so techies could fix the problem, about 20-30 minutes later and never pulling back up, the pilot announces he has fixed the secondary and we will now be ready to leave.
Well, not so fast....another 10 minutes and he announces that the jet will need to go through the de icing station, this procedure is about a 10 minute procedure......NOT! 45 minutes later we are finally de-iced and ready for take-off. Flight time was 26 minutes total.

So we arrived at GR about 1 1/2 hours late, I see my greeting party got tired of waiting for me......

Needless to say it was a very long day.

Glad you made it home safe and sound. The way it was snowing I thought you might get hung up somewhere. The 5 inches we got in Atlanta shut that airport down for the day.

While you were aboard the Corporate Jet, partaking in "Life Styles of the Rich & Famous" I was shoveling the driveway.
The good part of the delay is most likely that you were NOT driving from Detroit to Home in that stuff. Probably a good thing for the delay, and short drive from Lansing for you.



Ironically enough, your delay was about as long as it took me to get my driveway done. Stupid St Bernard Pup (All 130# of him and not even a year old yet) Thought it was fun to find the largest pile, and either crawl through it, or dig, roll, or what ever seemed easiest to put it back into the driveway.

Roof rake in effect tonight, then back inside to my hermit kingdom of HEAT........
