I fish docks like that but I use a spincasting reel instead of a spinning reel. It is much easier and I can be more accurate with a spincaster than with a spinning reel. Richard makes some very good crappie videos.

Keeferfish I got to agree a little. I can see where sometimes you might need that but not on docks. 1/32 is as light as I go.
