I see some of you are local to me. If you would like some information on where and how go to some of the smaller fishing shows in the area in the winter-early spring. I have some listed on my web site or you can send me a e-mail. Web site: theaddictedangler
I am updating for some current trout fishing information and will update next years shows in December. However there is a interesting trappers show in Newville coming up . Many tail gate vendors with just about anything including the kitchen sink . And yes, some fishing tackle also!

I have not but a friend has. What would you like to know?
Just curious if the crappie bite has been any good
No, Most guys will be fishing for bass. Crappie is OK in the spring if you can find them without 25 guys surrounding them. Also bluegill fishing has gone down hill do to guys catching and keeping all of them for cat bait for the river. I think you mentioned Bald eagle. Send me a pm. Interested in some fishing. I usually use my canoe.
Spent the day at Gifford's lake saturday, caught about 40 kept 20 - all around 10", 1 @12". Found a couple of crossing fall downs in deeper water from the bank. Bites were coming at 6' to 8' feet down right above the tree tops, set the slip bobber any deeper and I was snagged. DCNR structure maps indicate probably around 12'-15' deep. Lost around 6-8 slips, need to rethink my set up - probably use braid next time with mono leader. Did catch a 3 lb LM, miraculously didn't wrap me around the trees, wouldn't bet on that happening again - let him swim back home.
Owner of Hawghead said the boat guys are catchin a few slabs above the rock piles in the middle of the lake.
Probably be the last time out till next year, I feel a craving for dark red meat coming on.
