I use a variety of colors of painted jig heads. I got my butt kicked one day fishing with a guy and he caught fish on every top until I grabbed one of those pink heads and started catching fish too. Everything we used was exactly the same with the exception of the jig head. I was using an unpainted.

If for no other reason now, I use a painted head just to add one more color in the water for the fish to see and respond to.

I like contrast, so if I don't have contrasting colors in my jig body, I can add the contrast with the jig head.

Of all the colors I use I like the Chartreuse/Orange head the best.

I am to tight to buy anything but white. They always seem to work when they're biting.

I like them, but can never find 1/16 oz. With a small hook. Seems the smallest is a #1, and usually 1/8oz.
I could live with the #1, but would prefer a lighter rig. Shallow round here....
Jus too picky I suppose! They do catch fish, no doubt.

I once never used painted heads, but not now! I like to contrast my colors and give them something to see. I fish a lot of stained waters and I firmly believe it makes a difference. My most favorite colors are Orange, Pink & Chartreuse but I definitely usually start with Orange.
