I dunno....each time I try scents I have just about as much success as I do without it added. But hey, fishing in 90% confidence anyway, so if it boost your perceived chances, go for the scent. Certainly it cannot hurt.

Some products will harden your plastics if you soak them in it , seen that myself . Coffee and anise and similar things have been around forever .....but hands down no matter what is posted here or elsewhere ....gulp brand crappie nibbles are crappie cocaine ....I like the glow white best and use the chart ones in turbid waters , the pink ones are winter jig tippers ....that is what makes sense to me on scents and my 2 cents as well .....lol

I have a small squeeze bottle of Cod Liver Oil from the Pharmacy which I use primarily to keep the plastic baits I store in boxes from sticking together. I don't know if it helps, but it sure doesn't hurt. I do know that if I get some on my hands I will stink like fish till I can wash my hands with Lava soap and hot water.

I have seen the Scents make a big difference with Crappie, Bass and Bluegill.

I have used several things mentioned here. As ketchn mentioned the Power bait crappie nibble is hard to beat!

People will use W-D40 in the river for walleye. Yes, you will actually see people with cans of it on the ice. I don't recommend putting it in water but I've seen it work time and time again by people using it. It is a scent trail, good or bad. None of us truly know what things smell like to fish.
