Got a buddy that tried it several times on Sardis couple of years ago. Not the first fish caught.

I tried it at Trace lake years ago using green underwater lights....All I caught were bass and channel catfish.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

All my big 4 fishin has been in the daylight but I can tell you about it in Mo......Put out a light be it submersible, floating or a coleman lantern with a reflector to keep from blinding you and hurry up and wait an hour or an hour and a half....You will see baitballs (shad) circiling the light by the thousands.Every once in awhile you will see a spot open up in the baitball which is crappie or white bass chowing down.Use throw net to catch shad minnies or bring some shinners ,put them on a hook and yes you can catch a few fish doing it...Kinda neat ,fishing at night in the summer ,missing sleep, eatin bugs, and catchin a few fish....That's been my experience anyhow.....Not my favorite mode of fishin but you can catch enough to stink up the grease...You all can catch them at night but why bother, you only have a hundred other ways in the daylight....I could show you'all that yes you too can do it but what's the point?...

I have also wondered this. I've done it around dock lights on the Rez with no success.

I fish at night every now and then at Norfork Lake. The lake needs to be a clear water lake to work best. Also no moon is best, and the green submersible light works best for me. I don't think any of the big 4 would be a good night fishing for crappie, they are to muddy.
