I've sunk a huge number of structure items over the years, Never once did I consider it "mine" after it hit the bottom. I have had folks try to shoe-horn in to fish a structure I was on first and I just keep on fishing while they are forced to wait till I'm done. Most of the time I just ignore them. You know how the wind is when it blows your boat between that structure and their boat.

I get reports of folks essentially running others off "their" spot. Luckily I haven't had to deal with that other than the time an old man pushed my boat several feet away from his boat so he could drop his anchor where my transom had been sitting. I was amazed he had lived that long acting like that toward others. I just told him my piece and went on.

I had a member on here recently raise cane (screaming obsenities ) about me going to a spot that he planned on fishing . I pointed out it was a public lake and a brushpile on a public map given out by the corps . There are several in a row and not sure which one he planned to fish but bottom line was I was there first . After thinking about it he returned to tell me he was totally in the wrong . I told him to now go back and tell the man I had been fishing with as well as his fishing partner he was out of line.

I had some old geezers shoot me once while duck hunting nearby their spot and they didn't like it,,,, My 16 year old son was with me so Instead of handling them personally, I did the smart thing and called authorities and had them talked to about their behavior,,

I've only ever had words with a couple of folks over the years, and have a temper anyway, so I take a lot going the other way. As Chaunc has already said, all is good til I see no other means.

Story doesn't tell it all. But we all know two wrongs don't make a right. Both appear to be in the wrong. Fishing is supposed to be fun. If it isn't, move on. Life is too short.

don't matter if he didn't point the gun at him.....just pulling it out in a confrontation to show force is "assault" and you can be arrested for that...

What? You got to be in New York City. Here OPEN carry is still legal.

Open carry is one thing but when you unholster it then it becomes a different story I would think. I carry also, but I would never pull a gun over a fishing hole. I just graph around a find another one.
