Rngrfshrmn, those big black birds are cormorants also called water turkeys. Google the amount of fish they eat!
I think probably 10% of the ones I've cleaned had sores or holes. More than past years. I don't know if the weather kept the birds around longer or what!

Crappie Wall Hanger II
Went last night and this morning just off of a dock. Only got 1/2 dozen last night on rosey reds, jigs, and grubs. (Threw the kitchen sink.) Biggest fish came off of a minnow about 15 ft down. Nada this morning. Sure glad I got up before work for that.... Guess the fish don't work on our schedules.

It came together for us this weekend. Limits for wife and I both days. Nice 12-13 inch fish. Let a bunch of 10 inch spawners go do their thing. We were catching them 10 ft in 12 fow. Some already done, some ready to go to bank.

Well, grands come up a bunch. Went Sunday and caught a limit. 10 fish were between 12-14 inchers, rest nice big males.
Same places I caught them before the lake came up. June bug BG 2.5 inchers were best.

Went last evening and only caught 5 keepers. Front might have slowed them down?

I went yesterday evening too and caught the same amount of keepers as you gpaw. However, there were A TON of short fish hanging around. I must've caught 30 in an hour.

Minner lady went yesterday evening while I was working. She caught a dozen nice crappie. 8 spawned out females and 4 big males! One 14 inch 1.14oz! 6-8 ft.
