Wow! Nice crappie. Thanks for sharing the report and pictures.
Joined a friend today for a few hrs of fishing from our kayaks. His last 2 outings from a boat have been unsuccessful so I invited him to join me for some thump huntin'. Torrential rain and high wind Thurs and Friday along with low of 32* this morning made things a little tough. We caught a bunch of fish but keepers were harder to come by. We were blessed to catch a good mess for he and his wife as well as one a little over 14" that weighed 1lb 14oz. They were scattered from 1ft to 7ft, all caught casting jigs.
I need to give a shout out to @Ketchn I notice in several of his post he shows fish pics with orange jig heads. I have some but can't remember the last time I threw one. I tied one on today and the bite improved considerably. Used a few different colored plastics but the bright orange jig head sealed the deal.
We have all had better days but sometimes it's nice when you salvage a good day when conditions are not in your favor.

That was a good days catch. The big one makes the day, good fillets will come off of that one. Good Job Mister!!

Excellent job out there! I'll have to give orange a shot this season.

Pepop makes the Ketchn Karrot, an outstanding jig with an orange top. Works exceptionally well on our lake.
